SOLAR POWER AND SMART HOMES

Smart Solar Technology Comes to the Smart Home

We are now living in an age where smart home technology helps us save energy while improving our quality of life. We can reduce our carbon footprint all while saving us money. This same technology has now come to solar energy. You can now have a solar-powered smart home giving you more control on how much energy you use and how you use it maximizing its benefits.

Monitoring Power Usage

As we move into an age where we not only can control our appliances through smart home technology, but we can monitor how much power they using. We will have more ability to derive our power from sustainable sources and store this power for later use. We will be able to monitor how much heat our home is using through our computers, smartphones, and smart thermostats. Switching from boilers to solar as needed while storing the excess solar power generated to use to heat our homes and water for later use.

SLIC and SLASH-D TECHNOLOGY

Many of these systems are very simple to install with plug and play technology with no programming necessary. We offer a product through SolarlogicSLIC, SolarLogic Integrated Controller which uses SLASH-D software for system design and monitoring.  SLASH-D is a great tool for contractors as it will create a complete design for your solar system based on the location and heating needs of the building.  This eliminates the contractor from having to do expensive engineering and design of each project.   This system monitors the energy use of your home through solar thermal hydronics and radiant heating.

SLIC allows you to operate up to 10 heating zones, 3 collector banks, DHW, storage, boiler, ice-melt, pool, and spa.  No programming is needed, but all with adjustable parameters. In addition, you can operate any heating zone or an entire home with solar or switch to auxiliary mode to maximize comfort.  Or use solar or backup heat to create more comfort for someone who may require more heat, such as an older or ill person. These systems can be controlled remotely using your computer or smartphone, so you are always in contact.

COMPLETE CONTROL

You are in complete control of your system from anywhere in the world.   This system has a diagnostic mode which you access remotely to troubleshoot and even turn the system off if necessary. You will be able to turn your thermostat down during the day when you are at work.  Then, turn it back up so the house will be nice and toasty when you get home. Doing all of this from your smartphone or laptop.

This system measures pump draw, temperature, glycol Ph and pump flow along with many other qualities that maintain system longevity.
